Responsibilities
- Operate plow trucks equipped with snow removal attachments to clear roads, parking lots, and designated areas effectively during winter weather events
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of heavy equipment, including checking fluid levels, hydraulics, lights, and safety features to ensure optimal performance
- Coordinate with dispatch or supervisors to prioritize routes and respond promptly to changing weather conditions
- Maintain accurate logs of work completed, including route details, hours worked, and equipment maintenance needs
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting on plow trucks as needed to minimize downtime
- Utilize forklift skills when necessary for loading or unloading snow removal equipment or supplies
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic regulations while operating heavy machinery in various environments
Experience
- Proven experience operating commercial heavy equipment such as plow trucks, loaders, or similar machinery in winter conditions
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures is a plus but not required
- Familiarity with automotive repair basics to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues on heavy equipment
- Prior experience with heavy equipment operation in snow removal or related fields is highly desirable
