Spruit farms Ltd is a growing company and known as a contemporary, progressive, family atmosphere farm. As a team we are committed to raise high quality pigs in the most efficient and profitable way, with respect for the welfare of the pigs.

The farm is a farrow-to-wean with part finishing hog operation, located near Red Deer and Stettler, Alberta with currently 12 full time employees.

The Red Deer location has 2300 sows with internal production of replacement stock.

In Stettler County, Spruit Farms Ltd has an 8500-nursery barn and 7000 finisher spaces on 2 locations East and South of the town of Stettler.

We are currently looking for a Farrowing technician for our Red Deer location.

The work consists of the following, among other tasks:

Health check of piglets age 0 to 28 days

Health check of nursing sows during and after farrowing

Feeding and watering

Processing litters

Moving pigs

Washing rooms and keeping them clean as pigs grow.





Evening shift & weekend shifts every third week

Normal days are 7-4:30.

However, pigs need to be taken care off and don't stop when its 4:30. So it can be later.

Of course we will train the successful applicant, but experience is an asset.

Our farm is located about 10 minutes south west of Red Deer. Its on pavement, but you will need a dependable vehicle to get to and from work.
