Location: Edmonton, Alberta | Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Negotiable based on experience (Hourly Position)

Prairie North Construction Ltd. is seeking an experienced Field Supervisor to join our heavy civil construction team in the City of Edmonton.

This is a hands-on field leadership position for an experienced supervisor who understands heavy civil construction, knows how to manage people and equipment effectively, and can drive safe, productive work in the field.

Responsibilities:

- Supervise and coordinate operators, labourers, subcontractors, and field activities.
- Plan daily work and communicate clear expectations to crews.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and trucking to maintain production.
- Ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and quality

Requirements:

- Monitor daily production and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, survey, and other project personnel.
- Participate in daily planning, toolbox meetings, FLHAs, and other safety requirements.
- Identify field issues early and assist in developing practical solutions.
- Coordinate work around changing site conditions, schedules, and priorities.
- Ensure equipment and crews are being utilized effectively.
- Maintain accurate daily records, including manpower,



equipment hours, quantities, delays, and progress.
- Promote a positive safety culture and lead by example.
- Ensure company policies, procedures, and client requirements are followed.

Qualifications

- 3+ years of heavy civil construction experience, with previous experience in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Strong experience with earthworks, excavation, grading, underground utilities, road construction, site development, or similar heavy civil work.
- Good working knowledge of heavy equipment operations and construction sequencing.
- Proven ability to supervise crews and coordinate multiple pieces of equipment.
- Strong understanding of production, efficiency, and cost awareness.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, grades, and specifications.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to secure work practices and quality workmanship.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Edmonton, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
