We are seeking an experienced Law Clerk to join our Financial Services and Commercial Real Estate team in a permanent, full-time hybrid position.

The successful candidate will manage financing and commercial mortgage files from opening through closing, with lead direction from the responsible lawyer. The role includes coordinating transactions, preparing closing documentation, communicating with clients and other parties, and ensuring that all requirements and deadlines are met.

This position is well suited to an organized and detail-oriented Law Clerk who thrives in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment and provides exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist lawyers with financing transactions, including preparation of security and mortgage documents

- Conduct and review title and off-title searches, including title reports, PPSA searches, property tax searches and zoning certificates.

- Draft and register a variety of land registration documents, including Charges and Discharges.

- Review file information, organize materials and determine the appropriate process, ensuring that critical deadlines are identified and met.

- Serve as a primary liaison among clients, lenders, law offices and government agencies.

- Schedule, coordinate and perform closings and other real estate transactions.

- Input and maintain information in Leap, Fast Company, OnCorp, eCore, Teraview and Unity.

- Prepare final reports on completed transactions.





- Assist with billing and other file-related administrative matters.

- Provide additional administrative support as required.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

- Completion of a post-secondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk program.

- Experience and knowledge of commercial real estate processes and documents.

- A minimum of three years of relevant commercial real estate or financing experience. However, exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered.

- Experience handling commercial financing and real estate transactions from opening through closing.

- Proficient in preparing and formatting legal documents and communicating clearly with clients regarding procedural and administrative matters.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to deadlines and the dynamic nature of financing transactions.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with lawyers, clients and colleagues.

- Experience using Microsoft 365, Teraview, Unity, Fast Company and LEAP.

- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with strong organizational abilities and effective time management skills.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Law Clerk who thrives in a fast-paced environment, provides exceptional client service, and can manage complex commercial financing matters while collaborating effectively with lawyers, clients, and external professionals.

Expected compensation: $50,000 to $60,000 per year, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated expertise.

Employment Status: Permanent, full-time.
