Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic French Teacher / Tutrice de français to inspire students in mastering the French language and culture.The ideal candidate has a strong teaching or tutoring background, can deliver engaging lessons, and is comfortable using learning technologies. Experience working with adult learners and strong communication skills are highly valued.

Duties

1. Teaching & Lesson Planning

- Deliver well-structured and engaging French instruction based on the established curriculum and students’ learning goals.​
- Cover key areas of French proficiency, including grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and practical communication.​
- Design and prepare lesson plans, instructional resources, and classroom exercises to support effective learning.​
- Tailor lesson content and instructional approaches according to students’ proficiency levels, learning preferences, and individual needs.​
- Integrate real-life and practical language practice to strengthen students’ overall ability to use French.​

2. TCF Preparation

- Guide students through focused TCF preparation with structured instruction, practice exercises, and exam-oriented activities.​
- Introduce students to the TCF format, common question types, and relevant evaluation criteria.​
- Help students strengthen the language skills required for the test and develop effective strategies for approaching different question types.​
- Analyze individual learning gaps and provide additional support and targeted practice where needed.​




- Follow students’ preparation progress and offer personalized feedback and recommendations throughout the learning process.​

3. Student Engagement & Assessment

- Establish a welcoming and supportive classroom atmosphere that promotes participation, confidence, and ongoing progress.​
- Encourage active learning through discussions, interactive exercises, classroom activities, and other appropriate instructional techniques.​
- Evaluate students’ language development through coursework, in-class performance, assignments, and other forms of assessment.​
- Offer clear and constructive feedback to help students understand their strengths and areas for improvement.​
- Work with students to establish realistic language-learning objectives and support them in achieving those goals.​

4. Online Teaching & Program Collaboration

- Conduct engaging and effective lessons through Zoom and other digital learning platforms.​
- Keep teaching resources, student information, and assessment records accurate and well maintained.​
- Make effective use of digital resources and educational tools to complement classroom instruction.​
- Coordinate with colleagues on student development, course expectations, and other teaching-related matters.​
- Work collaboratively with the teaching team to refine instructional resources, lesson plans, and the broader French language program.





Skills

- Advanced proficiency in French, with strong communication abilities in both spoken and written French.​
- At least 1 year of experience in TCF teaching or TCF preparation is required.​
- Experience providing French instruction or tutoring is an advantage.​
- Solid command of French teaching fundamentals, including grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and communication.​
- Familiarity with the TCF examination format, evaluation requirements, and effective preparation methods.​
- Demonstrated ability to teach and motivate learners effectively in both in-person and virtual settings.​
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to handle lesson preparation and student evaluations efficiently.​
- Proficiency in Zoom and other online teaching tools.​
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in French, Education, Linguistics, or a related discipline is preferred.
