Our organization is a community-based, non-profit society providing independent housing for seniors and individuals with disabilities. We are seeking an energetic, team-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our team on a part-time or full-time basis (24–35 hours per week).
Position Overview
Reporting to the Operations Coordinator, the Maintenance Technician ensures the building’s interior and exterior are well-maintained through timely repairs and upkeep. This role also includes responding to emergency maintenance calls during work hours and participating in an on-call evening rotation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks.
- Complete minor and major repairs in buildings and equipment.
- Repair doors, locks, and closets.
- Basic plumbing fixtures.
- Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Respond promptly to tenant maintenance requests.
- Perform basic landscaping and general upkeep tasks.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous maintenance or handyman experience preferred.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs.
- General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, drywall repair, and painting.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and bondable.
