QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Requirements

Candidates should have completed a Bachelor's-level program in Recreation and Leisure studies or a closely related field. Candidate must be enrolled in or completed a program of study at the Master’s level or higher. Priority will be given to students enrolled in RLS degree programming.

Experiential Qualifications

Previous teaching, TA-ing, tutoring, lab instruction, or student-support experience is an asset. Candidates the ability to effectively communicate and deliver tutorial instruction while guiding hands-on activities and supporting student learning.

Course Specific Requirements The candidate should demonstrate knowledge of the sociological factors influencing activity, health, and well-being, including social, cultural, political, and economic determinants, to support undergraduate learning. The candidate should have experience with and/or be prepared to develop their skills in 1) supporting student communication and critical thinking skills, 2) group facilitation, and 3) grading and providing constructive feedback on written assignments, reflections, presentations, and participation.

Compensation: $51.53 / hour, plus 4% vacation pay
