We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Hardwood Floor Installer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing and repairing hardwood flooring in residential and commercial spaces. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical drawings to determine project scope and specifications
- Prepare subfloor surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and repairing as needed to ensure proper installation
- Measure, cut, and lay hardwood flooring using hand tools such as saws, chisels, and hammers with precision and care
- Install flooring planks securely using appropriate fastening methods including nails, staples, or adhesives
- Apply caulking around edges or transitions to ensure a seamless finish and prevent moisture intrusion
- Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure project timelines are met while maintaining high-quality standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in flooring installation, carpentry, or general construction work with a focus on hardwood floors
- Skilled in using hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and measuring devices effectively
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings for accurate project execution
- Familiarity with hardwood laying techniques is a plus for versatile project requirements
- Solid understanding of flooring materials, subfloor preparation, and finishing techniques
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in physically demanding environments
- Handyman experience or related skills in caulking and general repairs are advantageous
