Experience
3 to 5 years of experience as a heavy-duty mechanic
Work Setting / Work Site Environment:
In shop, Outdoors, Noisy
Perform scheduled maintenance service
• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems of various makes/models and off-road equipment
• Troubleshoot/inspect all types of equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extend of repair required
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications
• Repair and maintain equipment
• Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
• Order parts and maintain inventory
• May instruct apprentices
• Keep maintenance reports and documentation
• Attend to servicing/repairing various shop equipment and tools
Credentials
Red Seal or eligible to obtain Alberta Red Seal Endorsement;
Transportation/Security and Safety
Valid driver’s license: Driving record (abstract), Drug test; Steel-toed safety boots
