KOS Heavy Hauling is looking for an experienced Heavy-Duty Mechanic to join our team in Hinton, Alberta. We are open to either an employee or independent contractor arrangement.

Our fleet includes Peterbilt and Kenworth trucks, log trailers, gravel trailers, oilfield and lowbed trailers, log loaders, and dozers.

Most work will be completed in our Hinton shop, with occasional field repairs as required. A fully equipped service truck is available for field work.

Responsibilities

- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy trucks, trailers, loaders and dozers
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and scheduled servicing
- Troubleshoot and repair
- Respond to occasional breakdowns and complete field repairs using the company service truck
- Identify developing mechanical problems and recommend repairs before equipment failures occur
- Order or identify required parts and help manage repair priorities
- Complete accurate work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance records
- Keep the shop, tools, and service truck organized and properly maintained
- Follow company safety procedures and applicable transportation and workplace-safety requirements
- Communicate clearly with management, drivers, operators, suppliers, and other team members

Qualifications
- Previous experience repairing and maintaining heavy trucks, trailers,



and/or off-road heavy equipment
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
- Practical knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, suspensions, and drivetrains
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, service manuals, and technical information
- Heavy Equipment Technician certification is preferred; equivalent hands-on experience may be considered
- Valid driver’s licence
- Ability to work independently, organize repair priorities, and complete work safely and efficiently
- Dependable and flexable with callouts
