Sector Energy Ltd. is looking for a Honing Machine Operator to join our Calgary manufacturing team.

We are seeking a reliable, mechanically inclined individual who takes pride in quality workmanship and has an eye for detail. The successful candidate will operate honing equipment to accurately finish and size components to required specifications while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities

- Set up and operate honing machines, ensuring proper alignment and calibration for each job.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications to determine honing requirements.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and surface finishes.
- Adjust machine settings and tooling based on material type, part specifications, and quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on honing equipment to maintain optimal performance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of production orders.




- Conduct quality inspections throughout the honing process to detect defects or deviations from specifications, making adjustments as needed.
- Safe use of hand tools and over head cranes as required, training available

Skills

- Previous experience operating a honing machine is preferred but not mandatory
- Machining or manufacturing experience is an asset.
- Experience in oilfield, hydraulic, fabrication, or other industrial manufacturing environments is an asset.
- Strong understanding of precision measurement and dimensional tolerances.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Comfortable using micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to safe work practices and quality workmanship.

Honing experience is preferred, but we will consider candidates with robust machining, mechanical, or industrial manufacturing experience who demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn the honing process.
