We're seeking a Hotel Accountant for a contract opportunity with our well-established Halifax-based client, who has a diverse portfolio spanning hospitality and real estate operations. Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will support accounting activities across a portion of the organization's operations, with a primary focus on income statement reporting and accounts receivable.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

- Manage accounting activities for approximately one and a half hotels
- Take primary ownership of income statement reporting and related accounting functions
- Manage accounts receivable activities, including reconciliations and follow-up as required
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial information and supporting schedules
- Assist with month-end and other regular accounting processes
- Support accurate and timely financial reporting across assigned properties
- Contribute to a collaborative team setting and assist with other accounting requirements as needed

Experience & Attributes for Success:

- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Experience with full-cycle or property/hospitality accounting considered an asset
- Experience with Sage Intacct or Yardi is preferred, but not required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a larger accounting team
- Availability to fulfill the full duration of the contract
