Assist the Housekeeping Manager with day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping & Laundry Department while working with the team to ensure a high level of cleanliness throughout the Resort.
Responsibilities:
- Perform administrative duties including but not limited to preparing daily paperwork and room assignments, assist in overseeing room inventory, entering housekeeping schedule into time and attendance software, completing daily time approvals, etc.
- Complete room checks as assigned in a thorough and timely manner
- Ensure standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained in all public/common areas and guestrooms.
- Organize the day-to-day work requirements and set required standards against which work will be checked.
- Ensure that special requests from guests are carried out in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Ensure that any complaints or feedback from guests are dealt with in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Ensure that office, supply areas, and carts and materials are kept clean and organized at all times.
- Work with and supervise the Housekeeping and Laundry team in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
- Work with the Housekeeping Manager in training new Team Members.
- Liaise with relevant departments to ensure that guest expectations are consistently being met and, where possible, exceeded.
- Complete inventory as required.
- Count, sort and check laundry items to ensure proper inventory of all items and log information.
- Inspect all items for damage, thinning, stains, wrinkles, and discards, logging all information.
- Collect assigned rooms and other duties as required.
- Turn over any lost and found items upon discovery to the Housekeeper Manager.
- Ensure a pleasant and courteous manner to guests and fellow team members at all times.
- Complete room checks adhering to the agreed standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Perform the duties of a Room Attendant as required from time to time.
- Perform the duties of a Laundry Attendant as required from time to time.
- All other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager.
Professional Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience required
- Must have 1+ years of hotel housekeeping experience
- Computer proficiency required
- Opera experience preferred
- Completion of Secondary School
Personal Qualities:
- Capable of prioritizing work and handling a variety of tasks
- Positive working attitude and high level of maturity
- Ability to interact with team members, contractors, and management in a team environment as well as work independently
- Detail-oriented
