Job purpose The Inbound/Outbound Lead is responsible for overseeing inbound receiving and outbound shipping operations, ensuring accuracy in documentation, and providing leadership to the inbound and outbound agent team. This role includes monitoring daily workflows, managing paperwork, and ensuring timely completion of reporting, invoice reconciliation, and submissions.
Duties and Responsibilities The associate’s primary functions and responsibilities are as follows:
- Oversee and lead daily activities for the team, including inbound, outbound, and third-party logistics (3PL) operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to processes.
- Supervise and coordinate all aspects of shipping and receiving operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to deadlines including the 3PL.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for addressing escalations related to both inbound and outbound operations.
- Prepare weekly CHEP pallets reporting, review and summary and identify any issues to report immediately to their manager.
- Request and summarize price quotes of carrier and send to Manager for approving.
- Update the Warehouse Capacity Report daily to ensure accurate tracking of storage availability.
- Monitor “Damaged pallets” report and send claim form for 3PL.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to facilitate the restoration and resolution of damaged pallets.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to shipping/receiving team members.
- Perform other supervisory duties as required to meet operational needs.
- Provide the Director with timely updates on any shipment discrepancies.
- Schedule weekly team meetings to address any opportunities and escalate any issues to the manager on behalf of the team.
- Responsible for daily management and support for the team to achieve operational success.
- Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with Company Procedures.
- Approve the vacation requests.
- Carry out incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure.
- Issue disciplinary action when needed.
- Perform other assigned duties.
- Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
- Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years in warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create and manage documents, spreadsheets, email communications, and presentations effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and third-party logistics providers.
- Robust attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities efficiently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
