We are seeking an Industrial Controls Technologist to join the growing team in our Toronto office.

We’re looking for a practical, resourceful Technologist to take systems from order through installation, commissioning, and ongoing support.

You’ll work directly with customers, lead installation crews, and troubleshoot EXACT’s xCure and xMonitor equipment in precast concrete plants across the United States This is a hands-on role for someone equally comfortable with a drill, a multimeter, and a laptop - and who enjoys getting equipment working reliably in the real world.

You will have ownership of field execution and technical coordination, working closely with production, logistics, engineering, and support, to deliver best-in-class service to customers.

In this role, you will be tasked to:

Install, commission, and service systems

- Install and commission curing and monitoring systems at customer plants.
- Lead installation crews and coordinate work with customer electricians.
- Troubleshoot power, heaters, sensors, PLCs/HMIs, RS-485 communications, and networking, both in office and remotely.
- Carry out professional, thorough service visits: inspect and test systems, diagnose and resolve issues, verify reliable operation, and document completed work and any required follow-up.
- Communicate clearly with customers about issues, next steps, and system readiness.

Get systems ready for the field

- Oversee production readiness and quality checks for curing systems, working with EXACT’s production team.
- Confirm equipment, components, and installation materials are complete and ready before shipment.
- Identify and resolve issues before equipment reaches the customer’s site.

Plan and coordinate projects from purchase order to installation

- Take ownership of project coordination once a purchase order is received. Confirm scope, site requirements, deliverables, and target dates with the customer and internal teams.
- Build and maintain a project plan covering engineering, procurement, production, quality checks, shipping, installation, and commissioning, with clear owners and milestones.




- Coordinate with engineering to confirm technical requirements and release drawings and specifications in time for procurement and production.
- Work with procurement and production to confirm materials, lead times, capacity, and equipment readiness. Track dependencies, resolve bottlenecks, and escalate risks early.
- Keep customers and internal teams informed of progress, decisions, and schedule changes.
- Confirm site readiness and organize installation crews, travel, tools, and materials.
- Track open items through commissioning and customer handover. Schedule service visits and handle escalated curing support issues.

Keep clear, useful records

- Maintain site layouts, wiring and network details, installation photos, as-built records, and service history.
- Keep customer and site information organized so colleagues can find what they need.
- Document field issues and share feedback with the engineering team.

To be successful in this role, you possess the following:

- A technologist diploma in electrical, electronics, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience installing, servicing, or troubleshooting industrial equipment.
- Confidence using power tools, electrical test equipment, and a laptop to diagnose problems.
- Experience with low-voltage wiring design and the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
- The ability to work through unfamiliar issues independently, use sound judgment, and recognize when specialist support is needed.
- Strong organization and follow-through: you can manage the details of an installation while keeping customers and colleagues informed.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional approach to working with customers and installation crews.

Travel Requirements

- Authorization to work in Canada and the ability to travel to the United States for customer site assignments.
- Valid Ontario “G” driver’s license.

Helpful, but not required

- Experience with industrial heating, temperature control, curing systems, or concrete production.
- Familiarity with PLC/HMI diagnostics, industrial communications, and networking.
- Skills and experience to contribute to low-voltage industrial design work, including component selection, control circuits, and panel layouts.




- Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar drafting software to create and modify electrical drawings.

Work Location and Travel You’ll work daily from our downtown Toronto headquarters when you’re not at a customer site. Expect a minimum of approximately one full week of travel per month (or 25% of time), primarily to precast concrete plants in the United States, with timing driven by installation and service needs.

Compensation

- Base Salary: Starting at $75,000 per year and up, commensurate with experience
