The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Systems - IT, the Business Systems & Automation Analyst supports the improvement, reliability, and continuous development of the company's IT business systems. The role administers and upgrades existing applications, assists with implementing new systems and technologies, and partners with stakeholders to analyze and automate business processes.

This position designs and develops user-centered applications, forms, pages, dashboards, workflows, rules, and integrations on the Decisions BPA platform. It also creates reports and dashboards for multiple departments and supports business systems and databases, including ERP, SharePoint, SQL Server, and other internal and external applications.

The Business Systems & Automation Analyst coordinates assigned projects and workstreams, contributes to solution design and testing, and shares knowledge and best practices with team members.

Key Responsibilities

Business Systems & Database Administration

- Administers and supports business applications and performs routine upgrades across VISUAL ERP, SharePoint, Coptis, Smartsheet, Decisions, and other systems
- Supports application servers and SQL Server databases, including monitoring, backups, access, and routine troubleshooting
- Coordinates assigned IT and business systems projects or workstreams, tracks actions and timelines, and collaborates with departments to deliver suitable solutions
- Gathers and analyzes requirements, defines solution scope, and documents user stories, workflows, and technical specifications
- Assists the Manager, Business Systems with strategic projects by collecting information, conducting research, preparing reports, and providing analysis and evaluations
- Designs or configures in-house solutions, works with outside consultants and vendors, and supports testing, user acceptance, and implementation activities
- Analyzes and troubleshoots system issues, implements timely fixes, and escalates complex issues when required
- Manages application users, roles, permissions, and access controls in accordance with established procedures

Business Process Automation & UI/UX Development
- Designs, configures, tests, deploys, supports forms, pages, dashboards, workflows, rules, and reusable interface components on the Decisions BPA platform.




- Translates business requirements, process maps, technical specifications, and user feedback into explicit, user-centered interfaces and workflow solutions.
- Creates wireframes and prototypes, participates in usability testing, and iterates designs based on stakeholder and end-user feedback.
- Applies responsive design, accessibility, usability, and visual consistency standards across desktop, tablet, and mobile experiences.
- Customizes front-end presentation using HTML and CSS/LESS and uses JavaScript where appropriate.
- Integrates Decisions solutions with internal and external systems using APIs, SQL, and supported integration methods; troubleshoots data, workflow, and interface issues.
- Follows and contributes to UI standards, reusable patterns, technical documentation, and deployment practices for Decisions BPA solutions.

Reporting & Analytics
- Develops and maintains reports using tools such as Power BI, SSRS, Crystal Reports, Access, and Excel queries.
- Creates dashboards that communicate business trends and KPIs for multiple departments.

Helpdesk & Operations
- Resolves problems by conducting thorough analysis and applying appropriate resolution strategies.
- Supports day-to-day service delivery to the organization and acts as a point of contact for the IT Help Desk.

Collaboration & Quality
- Participates in peer reviews and quality checks and provides constructive feedback as needed.
- Maintains technical and user documentation and shares knowledge and best practices with team members.
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives and performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Postsecondary education in Computer or Information Sciences, or equivalent work experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in systems/business analysis, application support, or automation development.
- 2+ years of hands-on SQL Server experience, including queries, views, troubleshooting, backups, and database support.
- 1+ year of hands-on experience with business process automation platforms.
- Experience developing forms, dashboards, workflows, rules, automations, and integrations using Decisions or a comparable platform; Decisions BPA experience is an asset.
- Ability to translate business and user requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, technical specifications, wireframes, prototypes, and production solutions.
- Experience with usability testing,



responsive design, accessibility, user-centred design, test planning, and user acceptance testing.
- Experience integrating business systems through APIs and SQL; .NET application development and third-party API experience are assets.
- Experience with Power BI and reporting tools such as SSRS, Crystal Reports, Access, Excel, or equivalent.
- Strong data literacy, including validating data, investigating discrepancies, interpreting KPIs, and translating findings into business recommendations.
- Understanding of role-based access, data privacy, auditability, and secure system design.
- Experience supporting user adoption through training, documentation, communications, and post-implementation support.
- Ability to manage multiple projects or workstreams, balance priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, customer-service, interpersonal, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, current technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Assets
- Experience with SharePoint Online and on-premises environments or Salesforce administration.
- Familiarity with Agile, Kanban, or other iterative delivery practices.
- Experience in manufacturing, ERP-enabled operations, quality, inventory, production, supply chain, or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted productivity or automation tools, including responsible use, data protection, and output validation.

Total Rewards The expected base salary range for this role is C$80,000 - C$120,000 per year. In addition to base compensation, Cosmetica offers a competitive total rewards package that may include bonus eligibility, equity, benefits, retirement plans, paid time away from work, and other programs.

Final compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, market conditions, and internal equity.
