Who We Are Looking For

We encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply, even if you do not meet every qualification listed below.

We are seeking a highly technical, hands-on problem solver to join our growing team as an Installation Technician. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with complex systems, values precision and quality, and is comfortable in a customer-facing environment with routine international travel.

This role includes an initial approximately six-month, hands-on training period with our Production team before transitioning into independent field installation work. During this time, you will build a deep understanding of how our cryogenic systems are designed, assembled, tested, and quality-controlled—knowledge that is essential for long-term success in the field.

The ideal candidate is patient, curious, and motivated to invest time upfront to master the technology before working independently. This role is integral to our success as we continue to commercialize and scale our core products.

What Will You Do

Working closely with our Production and Service Leads, you will support the full lifecycle of Zero Point Cryogenics systems—from in-house assembly and testing through to global installation, commissioning, and service.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

- Building a strong understanding of how cryostats are designed, assembled, and tested to enable effective field troubleshooting and repair.
- Traveling internationally to install, test, commission, and service cryogenic systems at customer facilities.
- Training new and existing customers on the safe and effective use of their Zero Point Cryogenics refrigeration systems.
- Performing scheduled maintenance and warranty service work throughout the lifecycle of each system.
- Recommending maintenance and service items based on system condition, usage, and best practices.
- Performing electrical wiring, routing, labeling, termination, and soldering of 14–36 gauge wires, electrical connectors, and low-temperature coax cables.
- Installing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation, and process equipment.
- Using hand and power tools to assemble cryostats and fabricate metal components during production and installation activities.
- Taking accurate measurements using multimeters, tape measures, calipers, helium leak detectors, and digital thermometers.
- Reading and interpreting manufacturer manuals, drawings, and quality control specifications.
- Completing installation, service, and administrative documentation using Odoo, HubSpot, and Google Workspace.
- Performing other related duties as assigned, with responsibilities evolving based on operational needs.
