The Role

As an Intermediate GIS Developer, you’ll independently develop, implement and maintain GIS applications and databases that support our client’s spatial data needs. You’ll collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders to analyze requirements, design solutions, and provide technical support for GIS-related projects.

What you’ll get to do as an Intermediate GIS Developer

- Develop and maintain GIS applications, tools, and databases to meet organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and others to gather and analyze spatial data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Design and implement GIS solutions using industry-standard software and programming languages.
- Conduct spatial analysis and modeling to derive insights and support decision-making processes.
- Ensure data integrity, quality, and security within GIS databases.
- Provide technical support and training to users on GIS applications and tools.




- Contribute to the development of elegant designs that meet the business needs of our clients.
- Proactively suggest ideas to improve proposed solutions.
- Actively participate in application design, database design, schema layout and ETL processes.
- Troubleshoot and correct complex bugs or issues (including performance issues).
- Develop and execute unit and integration tests.

What you’ll need to be successful

- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Business Analysis, Information Technology, or Engineering
- 3 – 5 years relevant industry experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Platform: ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Desktop/Pro, ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Development libraries
- Demonstrated proficiency with: SQL - ideally with Postgresql or SQL Server, including spatial data, Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Environments, ETL tools such as Safe Software FME
- Demonstrated proficiency with: JavaScript and/or Python, Source control solutions such as Git, reporting solutions such as Power BI, ArcGIS Dashboard, or SQLServer Reporting Services
- Automated testing experience
