Internal Accountant — Full Cycle (Sole Charge)

Faber Inc. has been helping Albertans resolve debt since 1997. We are Licensed Insolvency Trustees with offices across the province, and our long-serving Internal Accountant is retiring at the end of December. We are looking for the person who will take over the firm's entire accounting function.

This is a sole-charge role. You will own the full cycle, report directly to the President & CEO, and supervise one Junior Accountant. The retiring accountant has prepared a complete procedure manual and will hand the role over in person.

What you'll do

- Full cycle accounting in QuickBooks Online — payables, billings, accruals, journal entries, month-end close
- Trust accounting for insolvency engagements in Aryza Insolv (IPS): receipts, disbursements, interest, cheques, reconciliations
- Bank reconciliations for all corporate accounts
- Semi-monthly payroll, payroll reports, source deductions, entitlements and T4s
- Monthly, quarterly and annual internal financial statements, budgets and forecasts
- Weekly cash flow and cost management reporting for the President & CEO
- Quarterly GST returns
- Year-end package for our external accountant
- Supervision and review of the Junior Accountant

What we're looking for

- A business degree or diploma in accounting, or equivalent experience
- 5–10 years of full cycle accounting experience
- QuickBooks Online, including payroll
- Strong Excel




- Meticulous accuracy and real discretion — you will handle payroll and trust funds
- Able to work with limited supervision
- Eligibility to be bonded and a satisfactory criminal record check
- A CPA designation is not required

- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Start and finish times may be adjusted with approval.
- Location: In person — 5807 – 104 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T6H 2K4. No travel between offices.
