The Junior Application Developer will assist the Sr. Developer in the continued development, testing and debugging of a technology focused on Utility Regulatory Intelligence. This is a junior level position suitable for developers with up to 5 years of experience. The successful candidate is a self-starter and will have a strong willingness to learn and grow independently in a distributed team setting. This is a full time position with 40+ hours per week.

Proficiencies & Requirements:

- Python Programming: Solid understanding of Python fundamentals (data structures, functions, error handling,



modules). HTTP Libraries for Webscraping, preference towards Playwright.
- Django Framework: Basic experience building and maintaining web applications using Django 5.2. 1-2 Years experience with Django application development, including Celery / Task development.
- Databases: Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or comparable systems. Ability to write simple queries and understand basic schema design.
- Web Development Basics: Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for integrating with front-end components. Experience with front end frameworks like Semantic UI, Material Design, or similar components would be considered an asset.
- Version Control: Experience with Git and GitHub for code management and collaboration.
- Server/Deployment Basics: Understanding of basic server concepts (Linux command line, virtual environments, basic configuration).
- Independent & Remote Work: Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, manage time independently, stay organized, and take initiative with minimal supervision.
- Problem Solving: Ability to learn quickly, debug issues, and follow good coding practices.

Assets:

- Data Management: Exposure to handling, cleaning, and processing structured/unstructured data.
- Web Scraping: Experience with tools such as Requests, BeautifulSoup, Selenium, Playwright or Scrapy.
- APIs: Basic understanding of consuming and integrating REST APIs.
- Testing: Familiarity with writing simple unit tests (e.g., Django Test Framework, pytest).

Education:

- Bachelor of Computer of Science (or equivalent)
- Computer Programming and Analysis Advanced Diploma (3 Yr College)
