We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Designer to support the development of precision scientific instruments. This role focuses primarily on CAD modeling, manufacturing drawings, prototype assembly, and documen t aton.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers to convert design concepts into detailed CAD models and manufacturing documentation while supporting prototype builds and testing ac tiviies.
This position is an excellent chance for a recent graduate or early-career mechanical designer looking to gain hands-on experience in scientific instrument d e velomnt.
Key R es ponsiilities
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models and assembli es using SoidWorks.
- Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings for machined, sheet metal, and pu r chased cmponents.
- Generate assembly drawings and tec hnical docmentation.
- Maintain and update Bil l s of Materals (BOMs).
- Incorporate engineering change requests and design revisions into e xis ting models nd drawings.
- Assist with prototype assembly a nd mechanica integration.
- Support design verification activities by documenting test se tup s and recordin test results.
- Coordinate with machine shops and suppliers regarding drawing revision s and fabricatin requirements.
- Organize and maintain CAD files, engineering doc umentation, and evision history.
- Assist senior engineers with product d evelopment activtes a s required.
Reqired Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design,
En gineering Technology or a related field.
- Experience w ith SolidWorks or siilar 3D CAD software.
- Ab ili ty to create detailed anufacturing drawings.
- Basic understanding of mec h anical assemblies and anufacturing processes.
- S tro ng attention to detail ad organizational skills.
- Hands-on aptitude an d willingness to work wit prototypes and hardware.
- Good communication ski lls and ability to work with i small engineering team.
Preferred Qualifications
