Regional Recycling is a local family-run business that would love to have your family become a part of ours. We are a high-volume Recycling Facility carrying out a goal of Zero Waste and have 6 locations that span across the Lower Mainland, Sea to Sky, and Vancouver Island.

We are currently hiring for a:

Lead Hand – Forklift Driver [Full-Time]

This employment opportunity is at our Burnaby Depot (2876 Norland Ave).

Experience in bottle depots, metal buying or warehouse environments is an asset, but not a requirement. We are willing to train the right applicant who demonstrates leadership qualities, initiative, and a team-first attitude.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR...

· Forklift Truck experience is essential

· Physically fit and able to lift up to 40 lbs repeatedly

· Comfortable using Android tablets and operating various equipment

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Strong customer service skills

· Ability to provide direction and support to team members

· Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role is a robust asset

· A hands-on leader who can also work alongside the team

· Able to work independently and with minimal supervision

· A problem solver who takes initiative and promotes a positive, safe work environment

· High commitment to personal safety and the safety of others

· Previous experience in a warehouse or bottle depot is a bonus, but not required

WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO…

Reporting to the Depot Manager, the Lead Hand will:





· Oversee and support daily operations on the depot floor

· Drive the Forklift Truck to assist with deliveries and collections

· Learn how to buy, sell and categorise ferrous and non-ferrous metals

· Provide guidance, support, and training to sorters and new team members

· Help ensure customer service standards are being met

· Greet customers, take in and sort products for recycling, and issue payments

· Assist with scheduling and workflow coordination during shifts

· Monitor productivity, safety, and cleanliness of the workspace

· Step in to help sort, count, and track beverage containers when needed

· Perform other tasks as assigned by Depot Manager or Supervisor

COMPENSATION

· Pay starting from $21 per hour (depending on experience)

· Overtime pay

· Vacation pay

· Benefits will kick in after passing the 3-month probation period (Full-time employees only)
