Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary dental supplies and equipment
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures, including restorative, orthodontic, and pediatric treatments
- Manage patient records accurately using dental practice management software Dentrix
- Take digital radiographs and assist with other diagnostic imaging tasks to support accurate diagnoses
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits
- Support front desk operations by handling check-ins, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow as a dental receptionist when needed
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and ensure all safety standards are met
Experience
- Proven experience as a Level 2 Dental Assistant or similar role in a busy dental practice
- Proficiency with dental software platforms such as Dentrix is highly desirable
- Familiarity with orthodontics procedures and pediatric dentistry enhances your versatility in the role
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dental care and patient communication
- Previous experience assisting with CAD (computer-aided design) systems used for orthodontic appliances or restorations is a plus
- Knowledge of dental assisting best practices, infection control standards, and safety procedures
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and team members
