Lead the Lighting & Comp phase in collaboration with the Producer, Director, and key creatives

Translate the approved creative vision into lighting and compositing standards, sequence looks, shot templates, light rigs, render strategies, and compositing approaches

Establish sequence and episode looks and communicate creative and technical expectations to internal and partner studio teams

Review lighting scripts, lighting masters, and LRC/FX through lighting, rendering, and compositing; provide feedback and approve work

Develop texture, surfacing, and lighting solutions that support the production's creative vision

Maintain visual continuity and technical consistency across shots, sequences, and episodes

Assess asset readiness and technical feasibility, identify risks, and develop production-friendly solutions

Provide hands-on support for key, hero, and technically complex shots

Guide, mentor, and support Lighting & Comp artists

Collaborate with Production on workloads, priorities, staffing, and review cadence

Monitor progress and communicate schedule, quality, and resource risks

Coordinate with partner studios and IT & Pipeline teams across locations and time zones

Troubleshoot lighting, rendering, compositing, colour, and pipeline issues

Help develop, test, and implement tools, templates, and workflows

Participate in production, creative, and client meetings and present work

Support recruiting, onboarding, training, portfolio reviews, and hiring recommendations

Contribute to retrospectives, workflow documentation, and studio knowledge-base best practices

Ensure adherence to pipeline requirements, naming conventions,



and file-management standards

Requirements

6+ years of production experience in lighting and compositing for CG animation, VFX, or a similar production environment, including supervising or leading artists and workflows

Strong portfolio or demo reel demonstrating expert understanding of light, colour, composition, visual storytelling, and shot continuity; shot breakdown expected

Advanced proficiency in Maya or comparable 3D software, with experience using Arnold or another production renderer

Strong understanding of CG lighting and compositing principles, look development workflows, render layers and passes, colour management, and scene and render optimization

Experience collaborating with partner studios and distributed teams across multiple time zones

Ability to interpret and translate feedback from Directors, clients, and key creatives into actionable notes

Leadership, coaching, and team-building skills

Experience collaborating with Directors, Supervisors, Production, Pipeline, and Technical teams

Ability to adapt to changes in pipeline, software, and technology

Working knowledge of CG software for textures/surfacing and LRC, including Unreal, Arnold, or Maya

Strong written and verbal communication skills





Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities

Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain quality standards in a fast-paced production environment

Working knowledge of Flow Production Tracking (formerly ShotGrid)

Proficiency in Google Workspace and Slack

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Robust attention to detail and commitment to artistic and technical excellence
