Defining processes and ensuring that the processes are adhered to

Oversees and is responsible for successful completion of Installation, configuration and migration

Ensure maximum uptime according to the SLA

Understanding of Multi-geo support environment

Responsible for building / maintaining a test environment

Responsible for strategizing a backup plan and test plan for failure scenario

Improves and maintains customer and employee satisfaction

Suggests current technologies and design changes

Monitoring and maintaining SLA requirements by the team members

Planning Backup/Restoration Strategy for 24x7 operation support

Suggesting patches/upgrades to maintain security level

Testing / Auditing/processes as required from time to time

Identify Skill gaps and plan for training / knowledge updating

Assist / Plan / Procedure in Data centre consolidation efforts

Perform H/W & performance tuning and maintenance

Day-to-Day reporting analysis tasks

Vendor co-ordination & followup

Technical Requirements

Installing, configuring and maintaining Linux Servers / Virtualization (Mass DC Deployment)

Installation and configuration of HA environment using Linux cluster or Veritas Cluster.

Configuration and administration of LVM and Veritas logical volume manager.

Installing and Maintaining kick start environment

Patch and Package administration (Mass Package management using Satellite/Yum etc)

Printer Administration

Writing shell scripts to accomplish day to day system administration task

Configuring and supporting domains

Troubleshooting Hardware and Operating system related issue

Administer and configure various FS like JFS,ext2, ext3, OCFS & Pseudo FS

Capacity planning and fine tune system for optimal performance

Knowledge on Apache virtual hosting, SSL website config

Understanding of SAN and NAS storage.





Administration of NIS or LDAP environment

Configuring Unix Security baseline

Performance Management & fine tuning

Experience in System Fault Tolerance Design, Business continuity and Disaster recovery planning

Prior experience for new project due diligence, transition and audit per standard. Generate all related documentation

New datacenter set up and transformation/migration know how (Identification of tool and methodology to achieve Mass DC Build and consolidation)

Providing consultancy for DC solution and standardization of the best practice related to Data center activities

Provide escalation support for ongoing project across globe

Advance understanding of x86 platform like UCS, Client, Dell

Know how Cloud computing, backup and BoM (Licensing)

Good understanding of x86 based application hosting, configuration and troubleshooting

Years of Experience

Total: 10+ Years of experience

Relevant: Minimum of 5 yrs in Linux Administration / Support

Certification requirements

Red Hat Certified Engineer

Red Hat Certified Datacenter Specialist (RHCDS)

Red Hat Certified Security Specialist (RHCSS)

Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) (optional)

Red Hat Certified Virtualization Administrator (RHCVA)
