Fine Education is a Burnaby-based academic learning centre specializing in personalized instruction and small-group support for international students, primarily from Korea.

We are looking for a reliable Science & Math Tutor / Instructor who is comfortable working in a small-group, individualized learning setting.

Our classes are not traditional lecture-style classes. Students generally work at their own pace using assigned materials, and instructors provide explanations, guidance, and academic support based on each student's individual progress.

During the same time block, you may be supporting several students who are working on different subjects or grade levels. For example, one student may be working on Math while another is studying Science.

This position is best suited for someone who is comfortable managing multiple students independently and providing one-on-one support within a small-group setting.

Schedule

Classes are generally scheduled in the following time blocks:

- 4:00 PM–6:00 PM
- 6:00 PM–8:00 PM

A minimum of approximately 8 hours per week is guaranteed. Additional hours may be available depending on student enrollment and the instructor's availability.

Because students require consistency throughout the school term, we are looking for someone who can commit to at least one full semester after starting.

Requirements

- Able to support Science 10–12 and/or Math 8–12
- Graduated from a Canadian high school or secondary school




- Strong English communication skills
- Comfortable supporting students at different grade levels and working at different paces
- Able to manage several students independently within a small-group tutoring environment
- Reliable and able to commit consistently to the agreed schedule
- Korean language proficiency is an asset, but not necessarily required

Responsibilities

- Provide individualized Math and/or Science instruction based on each student's current coursework and progress
- Support students working on different subjects or grade levels during the same class period
- Explain concepts, review assignments, and help students work through practice materials
- Monitor student progress and identify areas requiring additional support
- Help students prepare for school assignments, quizzes, and exams
- Communicate student progress or concerns with the academy when needed

Experience Previous experience in one or more of the following is preferred:

- Secondary-level Math or Science tutoring
- Small-group tutoring
- Learning centre or study-room style instruction
- Supporting multiple students with individualized coursework

Previous classroom teaching experience is welcome but is not required. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
