Our client is a growing North American manufacturing and engineering company providing custom solutions to leading OEMs across transportation, industrial, heavy equipment, and emerging technology markets. Combining engineering, advanced manufacturing, global sourcing, and supply-chain expertise, the company helps customers bring complex products from concept through production. With significant investment in expanded capabilities and infrastructure, the business is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation.

Responsibilities

- Own mechanical design assignments for products, components, and assemblies from concept through production.
- Develop and maintain 3D models, assemblies, production drawings, and engineering documentation using SolidWorks or comparable CAD software.
- Translate product and performance requirements into practical, production-ready designs using GD&T; and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
- Balance performance, manufacturability, quality, cost, and reliability throughout the design process.
- Build and evaluate prototypes and support mechanical verification, validation, and field testing.
- Analyze test results and field feedback, identify root causes, and implement design improvements.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and production issues, evaluate technical options, and develop practical solutions.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve design, manufacturing, and product performance challenges.
- Support the transition of recent and revised products from engineering through design release and production implementation.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations to improve product performance and manufacturability.




- Maintain accurate engineering documentation, drawings, specifications, and revision controls.
- Provide day-to-day technical guidance and support to less experienced engineering team members.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- 3–7+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design, product development, or a manufacturing-focused engineering environment.
- Registration or eligibility for an appropriate professional engineering or technologist designation in Manitoba.
- Strong proficiency with SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD software, including modelling, assemblies, simulation, and production drawings.
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T;, engineering drawings, DFM principles, tolerancing, and controlled design-release processes.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, mechanical testing, verification, and validation.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to translate engineering concepts into practical, manufacturable designs.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical problems, perform root-cause analysis, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
- Strong attention to detail, technical judgment, and commitment to engineering accuracy and quality.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply-chain teams.
- Experience with vibration, load, structural, and/or optical analysis is considered an asset.

Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba

Employment Type: Full-time, On-site
