Northern Hoist Equipment is looking for a hands-on, mechanically inclined individual to join our team. This role combines shop-based metal fabrication with on-site hoist installation. You’ll help fabricate and assemble hoist components, prepare equipment for installation, and work with our team to install hoists at customer sites.

The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, works safely, and enjoys a variety of tasks in both shop and field environments.

Responsibilities

- Fabricate, modify, and assemble metal components for hoists and related equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and installation instructions.
- Measure, mark, cut, drill, grind, and weld metal parts accurately.
- Operate shop equipment, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Prepare and organize equipment, materials, and tools for installation projects.
- Assist with on-site hoist installation, including positioning, assembly, alignment, and securing equipment.
- Safely handle and move heavy components using appropriate lifting and rigging equipment.
- Inspect fabricated parts and assemblies for accuracy, fit, and quality.




- Follow safety procedures and maintain clean, organized shop and job-site work areas.

Qualifications
- Experience in metal fabrication, welding, mechanical assembly, or equipment installation.
- Comfortable using common fabrication tools and shop equipment.
- Ability to read technical drawings and take accurate measurements.
- Robust mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable with hands-on work in both shop and customer-site settings.
- Hoist installation experience, MIG/TIG welding skills, and forklift or rigging training are assets.
- Working at Heights training and EDM-T certification preferred.

Pay: $24.00-$36.00 per hour
