Permanent Fulltime The Town of Slave Lake is looking for an energetic and responsible individual to join our team as a Multi-Rec Centre Parks Operator to provide and maintain high-quality recreation and leisure facilities and parks. This role may require working days, afternoons, evenings and/or weekends.

SALARY:

$26.89 - $33.91 per hour/ 37.5 hours per week

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide excellent customer service by using good public relations skills.
- Foster good relations with other staff, management, and the public.
- Operate ice surface equipment and cleaning equipment in a protected and efficient manner.
- Maintain MRC and all parks/green space to industry and/or legislated standards.
- Operate all the appropriate MRC/Parks equipment and perform related duties in accordance with the manufacturer’s operator manuals, Occupational Health and Safety regulations and Town safety policies.
- Perform janitorial duties as required.
- Perform maintenance duties as delegated.
- Maintain all tools and equipment in accordance with the owner/operator manuals.
- Perform related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

- Minimum Grade 12 education.
- Current First Aid/CPR, or ability to attain it prior to employment commencing.
- Ability/willingness to be trained to operate ice surfacing equipment and small equipment safely and efficiently.
- Valid Class Five (5) Alberta Driver's License or equivalent.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
- Experience working in a recreation facility or arena is considered an asset.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.




- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
- Must be willing and able to work in inclement weather.
- Must be physically fit.
- Good verbal communication and public relations skills
- Ability to work independently.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

- Exerts moderate physical effort on occasion.
- Works in all types of environments – closed spaces, chemical storage areas, building system rooms, ice surfaces.
- May be required to adjust hours of work to accommodate special events and other uses scheduled at facilities.
- May work alone.
- Work in high noise levels
- May be assigned an irregular work schedule, including weekends, early mornings, and evenings.
