About This Position

As part of the Health Services Department, the Nurse is a member of the Health and Safety team. The incumbent is responsible for providing consultations and care to employees and making health-related recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

- Comply with, understand, and promote company regulations and policies, particularly those related to health and safety.

- Apply medical prescriptions and protocols.

- Maintain confidentiality at all times.

- Initiate and manage workers’ compensation claims and follow-ups (CNESST).

- Monitor and manage disability cases (short-term and long-term).

- Collaborate with the Human Resources Department and operational departments.

- Assess employees to identify required care and treatment.

- Provide care in a remote-site environment in accordance with established protocols.

- Respond to medical emergencies across the entire mine site on a 24/7 basis.

- Perform on-call medical duties.

- Coordinate medical evacuations from site during emergencies.

- Maintain administrative medical records in accordance with professional standards and requirements.

- Educate and advise employees on health-related matters.

- Assist the physician during site visits.

- Manage pharmacy inventory and supplies.





- Deliver training sessions (Heroes in 30).

- Ensure follow-up of various programs as defined in the company-specific health program (pulmonary health program, biological monitoring, mandatory medical examinations, etc.).

- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education and Experience

- University or college diploma in Nursing.

- Expanded role training considered an asset.

- 3 to 5 years of experience in an industrial nursing position.

- Experience in critical care and emergency nursing.

- Current CPR-AED certification.

- ACLS and ATLS certifications are assets.

- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.

- Bilingualism (French and English) is essential.

Working Conditions

- Éléonore Mine Site (fly-in/fly-out from Montreal, Chibougamau, Matagami, Rouyn-Noranda, Val-d'Or, and Wemindji).

- Schedule: 14 days on, followed by 14 days off.
