Countryside Tree Farms is seeking motivated Nursery Workers to join our team for the 2027 season. You will work outdoors in a rural setting, assisting with the care and maintenance of a variety of trees, shrubs, and plants.

Responsibilities:

- Cut horticultural crops
- Clean greenhouses
- Harvest seedlings
- Operate climate controls
- Tie and secure plants
- Weeding
- Write daily basic progress reports
- Spray or dust plants with insecticides and fungicides
- Assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants
- Mix and prepare soils
- Plant bulbs and seeds
- Pot and re-pot plants
- Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings
- Apply fertilizers
- Report signs of insect or disease damage
- Dig up and wrap rootballs of trees and shrubs
- Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens
- Clean work area

Work Environment:

- Outdoors (wet/damp, hot, cold/refrigerated conditions)




- Rural area (relocation costs not covered)
- Fast-paced, physically demanding, repetitive tasks
- Handling heavy loads (up to 23 kg/50 lbs)
- Standing, bending, crouching, kneeling for extended periods

Equipment Experience (an asset):

- Chain saw, forklift, garden tractors, irrigation pumps, mechanical sprayer, light trucks

Products:

- Coniferous and deciduous trees, perennials, berry bushes, cut flowers, fruit trees, ornamental trees/shrubs/hedges, seasonal plants

Requirements:

- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
- 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience
- Valid driver’s licence and own transportation (public transportation not available)
- Steel-toed safety boots
- Efficient interpersonal skills, reliability, team player
