Job Summary

We are seeking motivated and dedicated Operator Trainees to join our energetic team!

The Operator Trainee will possess a positive attitude, and demonstrate core values including integrity, trust, respect and responsibility. This is an entry level job, but there is potential to advance through the operator levels. The Operator Trainee reports to the Shift Supervisors but is ultimately under the control of the Production Manager.

Position Description:

- Feed empty bags onto machine, to be filled with product, once bag is full the bag will be directed to the heat sealer for sealing. Approximately 6 bags are fed per minute.
- Once bags are sealed, they will be removed from conveyer belt and placed on the pallet.
- Fill out packaging schedules.
- Test metal detectors and weigh scales daily.

Other duties to be assigned as required, including, but not limited to:
- Taking samples for testing
- Labeling product, samples, etc.
- Moving full skids via forklift
- Applying shrink wrap to completed pallets
- Cleaning workstations

Abilities & Requirements:

- Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team




- Must be able to work well supervised as well as indirectly supervised
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, days and nights, and willing to work overtime when required
- Must be able to work in an industrial setting with the following stressors:
- Constant noise
- Humidity – depending on season
- Some trace dust in air – depending on role
- Standing for long periods
- Lift up to 25kg
- Repetitive duties
- Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and working conditions
- Forklift license is an asset

Ability to act in accordance with Standard Procedures supporting company-wide operational, service and safety guidelines.

Good verbal and written English communication skills.

Pay: From $27.14 per hour

Expected hours: 42.0 per week
