Position Summary The Painter will be responsible for efficient painting of racks while achieving minimum mil thickness requirement. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, have a keen eye for detail, and demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining quality and efficiency. The Painter will keep their work area clean and organized at all times, and continually maintain paint equipment and tools.
Additionally, the Painter will ensure proper labelling and storage of paint according to company policy and work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks involving physical labour and operate a variety of hand and power tools
- Perform start-up tasks at beginning of shift, and clean-up tasks at the end of shift
- Efficient production of painting racks while achieving minimum mil thickness requirement
- Ensure product is properly prepped before performing painting duties
- Accurate verification of paint color from drawings before performing painting duties
- Visually inspect completed work for craftsmanship
- Communicate with team members, supervisors, and managers from various departments to ensure jobs move into the queue when required
- Keep work area clean and organized at all times
- Work with Supervisors/Lead Hands to ensure continuous improvements in hitting quotas
- Clean, maintain and repair equipment and tools
- Ensure proper labelling and storage of paint according to company policy
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and PakFab policies
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a painter in a manufacturing/industrial environment (required)
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Preferably possess a valid driver’s license
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a busy setting
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Able to effectively communicate written and verbally
- Able to work well under pressure
- Knowledge of safe lifting and handling techniques
Work Conditions
- Lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs., walk and stand for long periods of time and perform somewhat strenuous physical labor at different times
- Use of personal protection equipment will be required
- Requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination.
- Must be able to quickly move arms and legs
- Hazards associated with the industry
