We are urgently seeking a reliable and engaging ECE for a part-time, parmanent possition within a small, community-focused childcare program.
Once hired, you will utilize your expertise in Early Childhood Education to enhance the growth and quality of the Might Learners District's before and after-school program. You will serve as the primary support to the Program's Supervisor, fulfilling the responsibilities of a room lead. This role requires close collaboration with the Supervisor, families, and Calgary Christian School staff to foster an inclusive environment.
You will design and implement engaging and enjoyable activities that promote learning and development. Your overarching objective will be to provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that acknowledges and respects each child's individuality, cultural background, and family values. You will create a dynamic atmosphere that supports children's holistic development by effectively utilizing time, space, and materials in ways that celebrate their abilities and nurture their potential.
Mighty Learners is a before- and after school Program. We are looking for an educator for Monday through Friday during the following hours:
- Monday–Thursday: 2:00 PM–6:00 PM
- Friday: 12:30 PM–5:30 PM
PD days, winter breaks, and spring breaks result in 6 to 8-hour shifts.
Responsibilities
- Providing support for the supervisor
- Setting up classroom activities and materials, based on planning and observations
- Work cooperatively as a member of the childcare team, facilitating a team environment through personal behaviour, work contributions, and the sharing of expertise and knowledge
- Provide effective supervision, support classroom routines, and maintain behavioural expectations with children
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards.
- Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment for all children, including those with diverse needs.
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their curiosity and love for learning.
- Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to enhance the educational experience and share best practices.
- Maintain a sanitized, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom space.
- Participate in ongoing career development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid level 2 ECE certification
- Or have a valid level 1 ECE certification and currently be enrolled in an early learning and child care certificate program offered by an Alberta public college or university, or an approved educational equivalency
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
- Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
- Proven classroom experience in an early childhood setting is essential.
- Strong teaching skills with the ability to engage young learners effectively.
- A background in early childhood education or a related field is required.
- Experience supporting children's developmental needs is beneficial.

Pay: $17.36-$18.00 per hour
