Position Overview
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Workers to provide quality in-home care to our clients. As a PSW with Nessa Healthcare, you will play a vital role in helping clients maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life in the comfort of their own homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Provide mobility assistance and transfer support using proper techniques
- Monitor and report changes in client health status to supervisors and healthcare professionals
- Administer medications as per care plan and regulatory requirements
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Document care provided and maintain accurate client records
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain client confidentiality
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the healthcare team
Required Qualifications
MANDATORY:
- Valid Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate from a recognized Ontario college program (minimum 600 hours)
- Current CPR Level C and First Aid certification
- Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) completed within the last 6 months
- Minimum 1 year of experience providing care to seniors or individuals with disabilities
- Strong command of English (verbal and written communication)
- Proof of immunizations (including TB test within last 6 months)
PREFERRED:
- Registration with HSCPOA (Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority)
- NACC (National Association of Career Colleges) certification
- Valid Ontario driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Experience with dementia care, palliative care, or chronic disease management
- Additional language skills (French, Spanish, Mandarin, etc.)

Work Schedule
- Flexible shifts available: Days, evenings, nights, and weekends
- Part-time and full-time positions available
