Postdoctoral Fellowship – Technology, Law & Society

Department : Research and International | Peter A. Allard School of Law Compensation : $90,000 annually plus benefits Duration : Two-year tenure with start date November 2, 2026 (later start possible) Posting End Date : September 18, 2026 Responsibilities and Expectations

Advance an ambitious scholarly agenda in areas such as artificial intelligence and law, privacy and data governance, cybersecurity, platform regulation, digital rights, intellectual property, and emerging technologies. Produce scholarly outputs, including publications and presentations, that demonstrate solid potential and impact. Engage in interdisciplinary methodologies and collaborate with faculty and students across the School of Law and the broader research community.

Potentially conduct a course or seminar during the fellowship. Eligibility

JD, LLB, or equivalent law degree. Have completed or substantially completed a doctoral degree in law or a related discipline within five years of the award. Not previously held more than one postdoctoral fellowship. Not currently holding, or on leave from, a faculty position. Holding a current, or expected, Canadian citizenship or permanent residency (required statement in cover letter).

Teaching Expectations





An opportunity may exist to teach a course or seminar as part of the postdoctoral fellowship.
