Job Summary:

Join our team as a Production Supervisor/Assistant at our Toronto-based fresh vegetable and fruit processing facility. You will support daily operations, oversee production staff, and ensure efficient use of our equipment, including abrasion peelers, dicers, conveyors, optical sorters, and onion peelers. This role requires a hands-on leader who can maintain quality standards and drive team performance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in monitoring a team of production workers to meet daily output goals.
- Monitor equipment performance (e.g., peelers, dicers, optical sorters) and coordinate with maintenance staff for repairs or adjustments.
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards (e.g., HACCP) and quality control processes.
- Train and mentor staff on operating procedures and safety protocols.
- Track production metrics and assist in preparing shift reports for management.
- Step in to operate equipment or assist the team during peak production periods.
- Resolve minor operational issues and escalate complex problems to senior supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized production floor in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or equivalent required; a diploma or degree in Food Science, Operations Management,



or a related field is an asset.
- 2-4 years of experience in a production or supervisory role, preferably in food processing.
- Familiarity with industrial food processing equipment (e.g., conveyors, sorters, peelers) is a strong asset.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality assurance practices.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with production and inventory systems and basic computer skills (e.g., MS Office).
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends or evenings as needed.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must have Permanent Resident (PR) or Canadian Citizen status.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 44.0 per week
