Quality Control SupervisorJoin our team and lead quality excellence in aerospace manufacturing. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Quality Control Supervisor to guide our Quality Control department, strengthen inspection performance, and ensure every product meets demanding customer, regulatory, and company standards.About Bearing Bronze Ltd. Position Summary
The Quality Control Supervisor manages the day-to-day activities of the Quality Control department, including receiving, in-process, and final inspection, as well as nonconformance management. This position ensures that aerospace products meet customer, regulatory, and company requirements while maintaining compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and applicable customer specifications.The supervisor provides leadership to Quality Inspectors and Quality Engineers, coordinates inspection priorities with production, and supports root cause and corrective action activities to drive continual improvement in product quality and operational performance.
Functions and Duties
Quality Inspection Management
· Supervise and coordinate receiving, in-process, and final inspection activities.· Ensure inspections are completed in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and internal procedures.· Verify the proper use of inspection equipment, gauges, and measurement techniques.· Review and approve inspection records for completeness and accuracy.· Support First Article Inspection activities in accordance with AS9102 requirements.· Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Team Leadership
· Lead, coach,
and develop Quality Inspectors and Quality Engineers.· Establish employee goals and conduct performance evaluations.· Identify training needs and maintain competency requirements for quality personnel.· Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.· Facilitate daily quality meetings and communicate priorities effectively.
Nonconformance Management
· Ensure the timely identification, segregation, and disposition of nonconforming products.· Maintain nonconformance report logs and monitor corrective actions through completion.· Coordinate containment activities for internal and customer-reported issues.· Support root cause investigations using structured problem-solving techniques.· Verify corrective action effectiveness and ensure closure requirements are met.
Compliance and Documentation
· Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.· Review and maintain quality records, inspection reports, and certificates of conformity.· Support internal, customer, and third-party audits.· Ensure traceability requirements are maintained throughout production.· Assist with document control activities and the implementation of quality procedures.
Measurement and Calibration
· Oversee the calibration and control of inspection, measuring, and test equipment.· Monitor calibration schedules and equipment status.· Ensure gauge control practices comply with company and customer requirements.
Continuous Improvement
· Analyze quality data and trends to identify improvement opportunities.· Develop, monitor, and report quality performance indicators, including internal reject rate, customer complaints, nonconformance aging, corrective action closure, first-pass yield, cost of poor quality, and on-time inspection performance.· Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S,
and continuous improvement initiatives.· Recommend process improvements that reduce waste, defects, and rework.
Required Experience
· Minimum of five years of quality assurance or quality control experience in a manufacturing environment.· Demonstrated experience working with an AS9100 Quality Management System.· Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a quality function.· Aerospace manufacturing experience is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
· Strong understanding of AS9100, ISO 9001, and AS9102 requirements.· Ability to interpret engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, specifications, and aerospace standards.· Hands-on experience with inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and coordinate measuring machines.· Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action methods, including 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, and 8D.· Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.· Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and collaborate effectively with production, engineering, and customers.· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
