Who Are You?
Weldco-Beales is currently recruiting a Receiver / Parts Picker for the Barrie manufacturing team. This position will report to the General Foreman.
Utilizing superior organization skills and attention to detail, the person in this role knows where everything is and cheerfully assists co-workers in sorting or locating any items needed. The Receiver / Parts Picker applies their exceptional data management skills (paper and digital) to ensure the inventory management system is accurate and up to date. The accuracy and service of the Receiver / Parts Picker directly contributes to the ability of everyone at WBM Barrie to achieve success.
What Will You Do?
- Inspect and count items received, check them against invoices or other documents, record shortages and fill out forms for damaged and returned damaged goods, routing them correctly
- Contact vendors to resolve problems or contact service depots to arrange for repairs
- Unpack and store goods in the appropriate storage areas
- Maintain accurate records of items received and where they are stored
- Check for availability of parts
- Rotate and restock shelves as parts are received
- Label all bins and shelving
- Add new parts to inventory system
- Active participation in the WBM safety program, ensuring that workplace safety exists at all time
- Adhere to quality control standards and procedures
- Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment at all times
- Other duties as required.
Sound Familiar?
- A minimum of five years of related experience in the 1/16 metal core and 3/32 flux core is essential to this position.
- Overhead crane experience
- Forklift experience is an asset
- Specific experience in a heavy steel fabrication/machining/assembly environment is considered desirable
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Safety conscious with knowledge of general safety practices
- Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and cooperatively with people at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently at tasks that require concentration as well as physical effort
- Time management skills to productively complete work and meet all deadlines
- Organizational skills to plan out and coordinate work in a logical manner
- Analytical skills to identify problems and find a solution, or seek advice from the supervisor
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 20 kg.
