About the job

As a key member of the Southern Region's Regional Services Section, you'll help shape how information is used, protected, and shared across programs. This role blends leadership, strategy, and technical expertise to ensure that data serves its highest purpose, supporting informed decisions and effective service delivery. As a Regional Information Management Specialist, you will:

- lead regional planning and implementation of information management strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate standards, policies, and legislative requirements
- collaborate across divisions and ministries, frequently supporting senior leadership to identify business needs, manage information-related risks, and advance best practices in information stewardship
- identify and implement innovative tools, technologies, and automation solutions that improve information management, business processes, and service delivery
- provide leadership and expert advice to ensure information is managed as a corporate asset and is secure, accessible, usable, and protected from loss, misuse, or unauthorized disclosure, including compliance with records management and privacy requirements
- coordinate and support information governance, records management, and FOI/FIPPA-related practices by promoting adherence to information management standards, procedures, retention requirements, and quality controls

What you bring to the team

Leadership and Project Management Skills

You have:

- leadership and project management expertise to lead, coordinate, and participate in project teams supporting information management initiatives, program directives, and organizational priorities
- experience providing expert advice, training,



and change management support to promote adoption of information management standards, records management practices, and new ways of working
- proven ability to build consensus, manage competing interests, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to implement information management solutions and address business needs
- skills to lead implementation activities, coordinate resources, monitor progress, and support successful project delivery and adoption

Technical Knowledge and Skills

You have experience applying:

- information management legislation, concepts, policies, procedures, and planning processes, including records and information lifecycle management, privacy requirements, data architecture, modelling, administration, standards, quality assurance, and performance measurement
- relevant legislation and government procedures related to information governance, records management, information security, and the protection of sensitive and confidential information, including FOI/FIPPA requirements
- theory and principles of systems design and development, including business analysis, testing, implementation, and training of information management solutions
- technology solutions that support business improvement, including SharePoint Online (SPOL), Power Automate, Power BI, workflow automation, databases, GIS products, and related information management technologies.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

You have:

- proven analytical, problem-solving, and innovation skills to assess business needs, information management risks, compliance requirements, and opportunities for cost-effective solutions that improve program and service delivery

Interpersonal and Communication Skills

You have:

- demonstrated interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills to provide clear and concise advice on records and information management, FOI/FIPPA considerations, information governance requirements, and technology-enabled solutions.
- the ability to communicate complex information management and technical concepts to diverse audiences and support informed decision-making.
