Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

Dunbar Animal Hospital is hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our growing, independently owned small animal hospital in Vancouver’s Dunbar neighbourhood.

We are looking for a compassionate, dependable RVT who enjoys hands-on patient care and working closely with veterinarians and support staff. We value a respectful, cooperative workplace where team members are supported, appreciated, and encouraged to continue developing their skills.

Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with appointments, treatments, procedures, and surgeries
- Monitor anesthesia and maintain accurate anesthetic records
- Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement




- Perform in-house laboratory testing and sample preparation
- Assist with dental procedures and dental radiography
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Prepare patients for surgery and monitor post-operative recovery
- Provide client education and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to efficient daily hospital workflow

Qualifications
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or eligible for registration in British Columbia
- Strong animal handling and technical skills
- Comfortable with anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and in-house diagnostics
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Compassionate, professional, and dependable
- Previous clinical experience preferred, but strong new graduates are welcome to apply
