Summary

As Providence Health Care prepares for the opening of the New St. Paul's Hospital, some aspects of this position may evolve during the transition period. While the overall nature of the role is expected to remain substantially the same, operational requirements may result in adjustments to scheduling, FTE, unit assignment, site or other operational details.

JOB SUMMARY:

Within the context of a patient, client and family centred model of care and, in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Providence Health Care, promotes a secure, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors and staff.

Reporting to the Supervisor Replenishment, the Replenishment Attendant is the interface for all commodities that come and go to the designated areas within the facility by the automated guided vehicles and is fully integrated in the health care team on each unit.

The Replenishment

Attendant transports a variety of supplies, materials, and equipment within the facility, ensures goods are delivered to the appropriate destination, checks received goods against packing slips, and stocks shelves. Keeps work areas and equipment in a clean and tidy condition.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training, and Experience

Grade 12 plus one year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Ability to deal with others effectively.

Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

Ability to organize work.

Ability to operate related equipment.

- Transports a variety of supplies, materials, and equipment,



from the automated guided vehicles to the designated areas within the facility.
- Coordinates distribution function, prioritizing the delivery of goods and equipment to end users and ensuring goods are delivered to the appropriate destination.
- Receives, inspects, unpacks, counts, and checks received goods against packing slips at point of put away. Identifies receiving incorrect and damaged goods, prepares damaged or incorrect goods for return, and completes appropriate documentation.
- Collects, weighs, sorts and records soiled linen and laundry. Delivers clean linen and waste stream carts to disposal hold rooms within departments, and picks up soiled linen and waste stream carts from designated disposal hold areas for delivery to the soiled loading dock.
- Distributes clean linen and laundry to user areas and transfers clean linen from clean linen carts to hospital carts according to pre-determined quantities and quotas.
- Requests supplies by department area using handheld scanner, reconciles supply order receipt against packing list during put away.
- Stocks shelves and ensures appropriate stock rotation. Supplies information about stock items to departments units as required.
- Cleans and maintains related equipment in designated areas. Checks the automated guided vehicles regularly and notifies supervisor of equipment requiring maintenance.
- Keeps work areas and equipment in a clean and tidy condition.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
