Restaurant Manager

Manzil is the restaurant at Kismet Estate Winery in Oliver, BC, offering approachable Indian cuisine alongside estate grown wines in the heart of the Okanagan.

We are looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager who is organized, confident, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of the day to day operation of a busy restaurant.

This is a hands on management role. We are looking for someone who can lead from the floor, build a strong team, maintain high service standards, and make sure the operational details are consistently taken care of.

What you will be responsible for

- Overseeing daily front of house restaurant operations and ensuring smooth, efficient service
- Leading, supervising, coaching, and supporting servers, hosts, bartenders, and support staff
- Creating and managing staff schedules based on business levels and labour needs
- Running pre shift meetings and communicating priorities clearly to the team
- Maintaining a strong presence on the restaurant floor during service
- Ensuring guests are welcomed promptly and receive attentive, professional service
- Handling guest concerns and resolving issues professionally
- Training and onboarding current employees and maintaining consistent service standards
- Monitoring staff performance and providing ongoing coaching and feedback
- Managing reservations and ensuring the dining room is set up effectively for service
- Monitoring labour, staffing levels, and operational efficiency
- Supporting inventory management for restaurant and bar supplies
- Ensuring opening, closing, cleaning, and side work procedures are completed properly
- Maintaining restaurant cleanliness, organization, presentation, and readiness
- Ensuring menus, pricing, reservation information, hours of operation, and guest facing information remain accurate
- Working closely with the kitchen team to ensure strong communication between front and back of house




- Supporting wine and beverage sales and ensuring staff are knowledgeable and confident when making recommendations
- Maintaining responsible alcohol service, food safety, and workplace safety standards
- Identifying operational issues before they become problems and taking initiative to resolve them
- Communicating clearly with senior management regarding staffing, guest feedback, operational concerns, and opportunities to improve the business

What we are looking for

- Previous restaurant management experience
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast paced environment
- Strong communication and guest service skills
- Confidence managing difficult conversations and guest concerns
- Experience scheduling and supervising restaurant employees
- Ability to train, coach, and hold a team accountable to clear standards
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak tourism periods as required
- Serving It Right certification
- FoodSafe certification is an asset
- Wine knowledge is an asset, but training can be provided

Who will do well in this role You are someone who notices what needs to be done and takes action. You enjoy being on the floor with your team, but you are equally comfortable handling scheduling, organization, communication, training, and administrative responsibilities.

Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour
