Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Salvage Vehicle Purchaser to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing salvage vehicles through various online auctions, evaluating inventory, establishing pricing, and making purchasing decisions based on vehicle condition, market demand, and potential profitability.

This position is ideal for someone with excellent computer skills, and the ability to analyze information and make sound purchasing decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Purchase salvage vehicles through various online auctions.
- Research and evaluate potential vehicle purchases based on condition, acquisition cost, market demand, and potential resale value.
- Review newly acquired inventory and establish appropriate pricing for vehicles and parts.
- Review existing inventory and adjust pricing on part vehicles and in-stock parts as required.
- Monitor stock levels and evaluate the quality, quantity, and pricing of in-stock products.
- Identify purchasing opportunities that support inventory needs and overall profitability.
- Conduct market and product research to support purchasing and pricing decisions.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory information within company systems.




- Work closely with Management and other departments to ensure inventory levels and purchasing decisions align with business needs.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education and previous experience in automotive purchasing, auto recycling, salvage, vehicle sales, parts, or a related field are preferred.
- Strong automotive knowledge, including vehicle makes, models, parts, and market demand. Experience buying and selling vehicles is an asset.
- Experience with Bid Buddy and Powerlink is an asset.
- Strong computer skills with the ability to use inventory management systems, online parts databases, auction platforms, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess vehicle condition, market demand, acquisition costs, and potential profitability.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize purchasing opportunities, multitask, and make sound purchasing decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Robust business judgment and understanding of how purchasing decisions impact inventory levels and overall profitability.
