This Senior Accountant opportunity is with an established independent CPA firm in St. Marys, working predominantly with owner-managed businesses and individuals across accounting, tax and business advisory.

You won’t be restricted to one narrow service line. You’ll work across compilation engagements, corporate and personal tax, trusts, partnerships, financial reporting and the questions business owners tend to ask that don’t fit neatly into a tax return.

What you’ll be doing

Prepare and complete compilation engagements

Prepare financial statements using CaseWare

Prepare T2 corporate tax returns

Prepare T1 personal tax returns

Prepare T3 trust returns

Work on partnership tax filings





Assist with tax planning for individuals and privately owned businesses

Work directly with owner-managed clients throughout the year

Analyze client accounts and resolve accounting discrepancies

Assist clients with financial reporting and year-end questions

Support clients around financing and other business decisions

Liaise directly with clients to obtain information and resolve file issues

Review bookkeeping and accounting records

Work with QuickBooks and other Canadian accounting and tax software

Assist with the development of more junior team members

What they’re looking for

3+ years of Canadian CPA firm/public accounting experience

CPA designation strongly preferred

Experience preparing financial statements

Personal tax experience

Trust and partnership tax exposure would be beneficial

Experience working with privately owned or owner-managed businesses

Comfortable dealing directly with clients

Strong understanding of Canadian accounting and tax

CaseWare experience

Able to work independently and manage multiple client files

Previous Canadian CPA firm/public accounting experience required
