Role Description The Senior AI Engineer is a full-time, remote role responsible for designing, building, and deploying AI solutions that address complex operational challenges for mid-market clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and training machine learning models, implementing neural network architectures, and optimizing systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
The role involves collaborating closely with clients and internal stakeholders to understand business workflows, translate requirements into technical designs, and integrate AI systems with existing infrastructure. The Senior AI Engineer will conduct research and experimentation on advanced techniques, particularly in pattern recognition and NLP, and contribute to code reviews, best practices,
and documentation. This position also supports mentoring of other engineers, ensuring high engineering standards and effective knowledge sharing across the team.
Qualifications
- Solid foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with Software Development for production-grade systems, using modern programming languages and development practices.
- Expertise in Neural Networks and Pattern Recognition, including model design, training, evaluation, and optimization.
- Practical experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP), such as text classification, information extraction, and large language model integration.
- Proficiency with machine learning frameworks and tools (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, scikit-learn) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Ability to design, implement, and maintain data pipelines, including data cleaning, feature engineering, and model monitoring in production.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Experience working in remote, distributed teams with strong self-management and ownership of deliverables.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in applied AI consulting, startup environments, or mid-market digital transformation projects is an asset.
