Desired Skills & Experience
- Proficient in Trimble AutoBid Mechanical (or similar software), with demonstrated experience performing piping takeoffs and developing detailed estimates.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the development and maintenance of estimating spreadsheets, bid summaries, cost analyses, and reporting tools.
- Strong understanding of hydronic, steam, condensate, compressed air, natural gas, process piping, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to interpret and analyze mechanical drawings, specifications, bid documents, and contract requirements to accurately assess project scope and identify potential risks, exclusions, and opportunities.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously and consistently meet bid deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience obtaining, evaluating, and negotiating supplier and subcontractor quotations, with the ability to perform scope reviews and ensure complete and competitive pricing.
- Proven ability to identify value engineering opportunities and develop cost-effective solutions while maintaining compliance with project specifications and performance requirements.
