Position: Senior Systems Administrator - Mainframe Security

Duration: 3 months contract with potential extensions

Job Overview

Our Public sector client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Administrator / Mainframe Security Systems Programmer to support its Mainframe Security Engineering group.

The role is focused on the engineering, administration, maintenance, upgrades, and operational support of IBM z/OS mainframe security products, particularly RACF, CA Top Secret (TSS), and CA ACF2. The successful candidate will provide senior technical support, troubleshoot complex production issues, implement security product upgrades, and mentor internal teams.

Responsibilities

- Install, configure, maintain, patch, and upgrade mainframe security products
- Administer RACF, CA Top Secret (TSS), ACF2, and related Broadcom security products
- Perform IBM mainframe systems programming using ISPF/TSO, REXX, JCL, CLIST, SDSF and USS
- Install and apply product maintenance using SMP/E
- Manage security parameters, profiles, and security logging
- Migrate security product upgrades and maintenance across development, test, and production
- Troubleshoot complex production, performance, and system issues, including system dump analysis
- Support parallel sysplex and z/OS environments
- Respond to incidents, change requests, and technical service requests




- Recommend improvements to mainframe security architecture and operational processes
- Produce installation, maintenance, architecture, backup/restore, and operational documentation
- Provide on-call support and mentor/train internal technical resources

Requirements:

- 10+ years - IBM Mainframe Systems Programming, including ISPF/TSO, REXX, JCL, CLIST, SDSF, USS and related IBM utilities
- 10+ years - Mainframe Security: RACF, CA Top Secret (TSS) and/or ACF2
- 10+ years - SMP/E installation, maintenance, patching and upgrades of mainframe security products
- 10+ years - Configuration and administration of mainframe security products, including profiles, parameters and security logs
- 10+ years - Production troubleshooting, performance troubleshooting and system dump analysis
- 10+ years - Security product migrations/upgrades across development and production environments
- 8+ years - zSeries performance analysis and improvement
- 8+ years - Mainframe security workplace enhancement and technical recommendations
- 5+ years - Training and mentoring technical resources

Nice-to-Have

- Broadcom mainframe security products, including CA Cleanup, CA LDAP, TAMz and Mainframe Security Insights
- NC-Syncom password synchronization
- BMC Control-M, CA-7, IOF, FileAid or Syncsort
- SMF, RMF and TADz performance management
- ISPF/PDF application development
- CA Compliance Manager, Compliance Event Manager or Data Content Discovery
