Experienced Sewing Operator: On-Call / Project-Based

Fashion Studio No.5 is looking for an experienced Sewing Operator to join our team on an on-call, project-based basis during periods of higher workload.

This is not a regular full-time or part-time position. We will reach out when we have projects available, and work will be offered based on our production needs and your availability.

We are looking for someone who is confident working with different types of garments and fabrics and is skilled in both production sewing and complete garment assembly.

Skills & Qualifications

- Proven experience in apparel sewing and production.
- Ability to assemble garments from cut pieces to finished product.
- Ability to sew both complete garments and individual sewing operations.
- Experience working with a variety of industrial sewing machines.
- Experience with different types of fabrics, including knits, wovens, delicate and technical fabrics.
- Strong attention to detail and high-quality finishing.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Ability to meet production deadlines and maintain consistent quality.

Responsibilities
- Assemble and sew complete garments from cut fabric to finished product.
- Perform individual sewing operations as part of a production team.
- Follow patterns, samples, construction instructions and production requirements.
- Maintain consistent quality and accurate construction throughout production.




- Support the production team during busy periods.
- Complete projects within established timelines.
- Keep the sewing area organized and maintain sewing equipment in good working order.

Work Conditions
- Location: Our studio in Gastown, Vancouver.
- Type: On-call / project-based.
- Schedule: Flexible, depending on project requirements and your availability.
- Work is offered primarily during periods of increased production workload.
- Potential for ongoing projects if it is a good fit for both sides.
