Role Description The Sheet Metal Foreman is a full-time, on-site role based in Ottawa, ON. This position oversees sheet metal installation, fabrication, and ductwork on commercial HVAC projects, ensuring work meets specifications, codes, and safety standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading and mentoring a crew, assigning tasks, coordinating materials and equipment, and monitoring project progress and quality.

The foreman collaborates with project managers, technicians, and clients to resolve issues,



maintain clear communication, and support efficient scheduling. The role also involves hands-on work, troubleshooting, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and company procedures.

Qualifications

- Supervisory skills to lead crews, coordinate work, and mentor team members.
- Experience working with heavy equipment and tools related to sheet metal and HVAC installation.
- Solid communication skills for collaborating with team members, contractors, and clients.
- Background in carpentry or related trades and general maintenance skills in commercial building environments.
- Proven experience as a sheet metal foreman or lead hand in HVAC or mechanical construction.
- Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and best practices for sheet metal and HVAC work.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
- Red Seal or relevant trade certification in sheet metal or HVAC is an asset.
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous professional development.
